All About the Book Press + New Building Plan
Lately I’ve been getting back into bookbinding which is such a fun and interesting thing to do. I love making my own books! Now, as I was starting to work on some projects, I was happy to get back to using our awesome book binding tools we made a while back.
The book press in particular is a project I often get questions about whether or not we have a building plan. Well now we do: BOOK PRESS BUILDING PLAN
And I completely get it! If you get into bookbinding, you quickly realize just how important a book press is, and when you start looking around you see just how expensive they are to buy. If you’re able to woodwork, a book press makes a lot of sense to build!
So, for the last week or so, I’ve been working hard on creating a really detailed building plan complete with cutlists, step by step instructions, diagrams etc… I think it’s quite easy to follow and clear.
As I’ve reacquainted myself with the nitty gritty details about this press, I figured it would be fun to make an accompanying video going into the project as well as a little about simple machines, the screw, different types of threads, the construction etc…
I hope you enjoy it. And, if you’ve been thinking about finally building that press, now is your chance. Here is the plan: BOOK PRESS BUILDING PLAN
